Cory Plough has been teaching online for six years. He works primarily in a hybrid learning program in Las Vegas, Nevada that mixes online curriculum with face to face mentoring. He also teaches Professional Development courses on social media for the state of Idaho’s teacher training program, social studies courses for New Mexico and Connecticut’s state programs, and has worked as an adjunct professor at Boise State University.
Cory has a M.Ed in Educational Technology and is currently working on his Administrative Credential at UNLV. He has been speaking about using social media in schools and personal learning networks for personal professional development for the last three years. His main goal as an online teacher is to individualize instruction for all of his online students and provide opportunities for a more personalized education experience.

Description: This session will examine the meteoric rise of online and hybrid schools and what it means for education. We will talk about how student learning changes, noticeable differences in teaching strategies, corporate influence, and the future effects on traditional classrooms.
